Networked RS232 / RS485 Buffered Communications. Serial communications (RS-232, 422 and 485) is considered a cost-effective, reliable and time-tested protocol for data transfer. Most PBX phone systems provide an RS-232 interface, Station Messaging Detail Reporting (SMDR) port, to integrate computer based Call Accounting applications designed to collect and process Call Record Data. |

Features
Flexibility
The DataCentral software utility quickly discovers PortStore devices over the network for remote configuration and management.
PortStore can be configured to operate as a server or client. Default is set for server, listening on the network for commands from the client where and when to send data. The 2mb buffer capacity (2048KB) stores 20,000 data records based on an avg. of 100 kb/record. Data can be downloaded and presented for batch processing within in minutes. The devices small form factor is inconspicuous to enquiring minds, and ideal for efficient installations at multiple remote locations.
Reliability
Data transfer utilizes TCP/IP protocol, developed by the Department of Defense, a universally-accepted world-wide standard for the efficient packaging, addressing, and delivery of data over a private or public network.
PortStore rugged enclosure and solid state components are designed for operation in a harsh, or unattended environment.
Security
Built in Tiny Encryption Algorithm (TEA) provides fast and secure access.
PortStore can be configured to communicate only with a single IP address, or a range of IP addresses.
Transmission and configuration port setting defaults can be reconfigured, up to 10000 possible port selections.
Affordability
Eliminate the total cost of dedicating a computer to continually collect and process serial data. The efficient data collection, polling and processing takes only minutes a day, freeing the resources of the computing platform to run other applications.
