Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where can I find prices and where can I purchase Callwhere?

A: Callwhere may be purchased through our nationwide network of authorized dealers. To find a dealer in your area, please call us at 1-800-580-3277, or fill out our online form. Alternatively, contact your telephone vendor and tell them that you're interested in purchasing Callwhere.

Q: I periodically receive a message that I need an NANP update. Why do I need one and where may I obtain one?

A: Everyday new area codes and exchanges are being created to make more phone numbers available. NANP updates allow Callwhere® to associate phone numbers with the correct city and state for your reports. You may enter the changes manually, or receive downloadable updates from A&A Teledata with an End User Support Agreement. Please contact us for pricing information.

Q: I just made changes to my SMDR settings and/or pricing tables. How can I make the reports reflect these changes retroactively?

A: If changes are made to the software setup they will not be reflected in data that is already collected. To implement the new settings so that the reports will reflect the new changes:

  1. Stop the Call Collector.
  2. Open the Call Manager
  3. Under Call Management, click the "Archive Calls" icon - to backup the records before deleting them.
  4. After archiving a range of calls, delete those calls by clicking the "Delete Calls" icon and selecting the same date range.
  5. Click the "Retrieve Calls" icon and select the name of the archive you just created.
  6. Answer "YES" when it prompts you to Process the Records. Callwhere® reports will now reflect the new changes you made in the software setup.

Q: When I open the Call Collector, I receive an error message that states "Failed to locate security key . . .". What is a security key and why can't the system locate it?

A: To prevent the illicit use of Callwhere®, we use a security key that plugs into the LPT1 port of the computer that collects the SMDR data. This key is invisible to your printer so it should not affect other applications from printing. Windows NT and 2000 require special drivers for Callwhere® to sense the security key in the LPT1 port. If the key is in the LPT1 port, these drivers are installed during installation. If your system can't locate the key, chances are you are running Windows NT or Windows 2000. If this is your situation then you need to install the security key drivers. You can obtain the drivers from our downloads page.

Q: I couldn't find the answer to my question, couldn't find what I was looking for on the Web site, or have a comment about Callwhere® and/or the Web site. What can I do?

A: Review our contact information and send us an e-mail! We welcome your feedback and comments!
